Our Process

Early Planning

Jeff Donath

Early planning is the most important part to any successful restoration, renovation, custom cabinetry or millwork project. Connecticut Coastal Construction enjoys working alongside our clients to fully understand and share a common vision for the project. Using Connecticut Coastal Construction’s years of experience in the field as well as the client’s ideas, a vision is developed into a plan that the client can be proud of and Connecticut Coastal Construction can bring to fruition.

Jeffrey Donath, owner of the businesses, likes to be involved in every aspect of the planning. He will review the construction site to get a feel for the area as well as the style of any existing structure to ensure that the addition will flow. Jeffrey’s years of experience in the field are reflected in his attention to even the most minute details.

At Connecticut Coastal Construction, our method for estimating does not use the current “book method” but rather a more traditional plan, which allows the customer to realistically see where all of the costs are going. This plan shows the customer an accurate estimate for the project cost and also includes a timeline for the completion for the project.

The Construction Process

Step 1 - Product Choice

Connecticut Coastal Construction is very discerning about the materials we work with. We use carefully selected vendors for materials to ensure the highest quality and count on experienced members of our team to hand pick superior materials.

Step 2 - Protection

All the items in the work area are removed and the area is protected by necessary coverings and containment barriers.

Step 3 - Communication

We at Connecticut Coastal Construction strongly believe in communication. It is one of the most important steps in any successful collaboration. We employ both written and verbal methods daily to keep the customer informed about our progress through briefings as well as a communication clipboard.

Step 4 - Construction

We take pride in our work and in your observations of the progress as it happens. We keep our materials organized and the job site is tidy and free of debris. This allows for an efficient work zone for us as well as an Also it helps us to keep track of necessary materials for our building project.

All work is reviewed at the end of the working day to see if there are any questions or concern with a particular assignment.

Step 5 - Project Completion

You will have seen the progress step by step, we will have communicated each step of the way and we will have restored all protected items and areas to their previous state. At this point, the only thing left to do is for you to experience the new facet of your home as you had originally envisioned.

If you have any questions, Contact Us and we will be glad to address them.
